Unity Tuscaloosa is a grassroots organization which is working to mend race relations in metro Tuscaloosa, and one of their major upcoming projects is Storytimes.

Storytimes described as a reading program, of which 11 area churches and faith-based organizations are a part, which focuses on children up to 6 years of age. Each of the participating churches will host its own library, composed of books donated from personal libraries. The goal is to increase reading skills for young children and to create a bond between parent and child.

  • 3rd Street Church of God
  • Alberta Baptist
  • Bethel Baptist
  • College Hill Baptist
  • Hightown Church of God
  • Hunter's Chapel AME Zion
  • New Harvest Church of God
  • New Zion Baptist
  • Tabernacle Baptist

The other faith-based participant is Youth for Christ Teen Moms.
