1 in 4 global consumers have been a victim of credit card fraud in the past five years, according to a study from ACI Worldwide a payments solutions company.

Can anything be done to stop it? 50 percent of consumers have habits that put them at risk of financial fraud. I can tell you from experience getting things straight after your credit or debit cards have been compromised is a hassle.

There are some things you can do to increase the odds of you becoming a victim of credit card fraud. One of the riskiest things you can do is throw your statement in the trash. Another one is not clearing your computer cache.
