So with all the rain we've had this winter, including yesterday, it's hard to forget just this past year of the long drought we had. Remember when we had no rain for about thirty something days?

Well there's 10 counties in Alabama that were effected pretty much those to the west including Choctow County. They can apply for drought relief, in particular for famers who really took the most beating

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says drought disaster aid is available in 79 of Mississippi's 82 counties — and in 22 counties in adjacent states.

Farmers and ranchers in those counties have eight months from Feb. 23 to apply for low-interest loans to help cover part of their losses from the drought.
