A Study Lists The Best Places To Buy A House In Alabama

As a new Alabama resident and a new father, I'm definitely interested in being a homeowner. Renting apartments and homes can grow old and owning your own piece of property is a huge goal for many.

Upon my arrival in Alabama, I've heard Vestavia Hills is a great place to live, Pelham and Helena were also mentioned. I was interested to see which place in Alabama was best to buy a house and a few of my places were on the list. Niche.com ranked the top places to buy a house and considered the location's housing market, taxes, crime, local school quality and other factors for rankings. Coming in at the #1 best place to buy a house in Alabama was Madison. This top ranking spot received an A in almost every category with the exception of nightlife and crime.

Here's the top fifteen places to buy a house in Alabama according to Niche.com.

  1. Madison
  2. Indian Springs Village
  3. Harvest
  4. Priceville
  5. Pelham
  6. Helena
  7. Moores Mill
  8. Meadowbrook
  9. Chelsea
  10. Pine Level
  11. Trussville
  12. Meridianville

Over half of these places are completely new to me so I'll have to do some research on them. Madison, Hoover, Indian Springs Village were also listed in the most diverse places list in Alabama.

Any Alabama natives care to weigh in? I'm curious to see what you think about these rankings. I was hoping to see Tuscaloosa or Northport on the list. I went all the way through the top 50 and still didn't see either place.
