According to Tennessee trooper spokesman Lt. Bill Miller, 2-year-old Nikayla Oliver was killed when the SUV she was a passenger in blew two tires, flipped and caught on fire.

The accident happened at 5:25 p.m. on Interstate 75 just outside Monroe County. She was not wearing a seat belt or riding in any kind on child restraint seat.

According to the trooper report the left rear tire blew out, and then the right front tire blew out. The SUV crossed over into the slow lane started to turn sideway then ran off the roadway striking a concrete culvert and flipping into a ditch. The SUV came to rest on the passenger side then caught on fire.

Nine others were in the SUV. All of them survived but extent of their injuries are unknown. They are Sherna Reed 43; Willie Antonion Reed 25; Shakita Coleman 16; Tevia Denee Blanks, 20; Jakiya Williams,  Eric Scales, 20; Tiana Scales, 11; and Michael Scales Jr..
