I have enjoyed visiting all the parks in West Alabama. Our area parks have served as a staycation for me during the COVID-19 pandemic. Open spaces have been a great way to get exercise and fresh air.

If you have been following my park adventures, you know I love exploring. I ran across this cute park one day while being rerouted due to construction. I’ll admit, I got lost, but that’s part of the fun. I was excited because I think I found Tuscaloosa’s smallest park, which is incredible.

Springbrook Park is smaller in size compared to other Tuscaloosa parks.  However, this park is warm, friendly, clean, and nestled in a neighborhood.  For the overall size of the park, it has a pretty large open grassy space.  That makes it perfect for games like Frisbee, Soccer, Bocce ball, Horseshoe, Cornhole, Capture the Flag, and so much more.

There is also a great playground at Springbrook Park that features fun stuff for kids and kids at heart.   The playground has a tunnel, horizontal ladder, slides, steps, and a ramp.  All of this is perfect for playtime and encouraging physical activity.

Need a perfect spot to read a good book and let the kids play? Springbrook Park is the move because they have benches and picnic tables too. Open every day from 7 am until dusk.  You can find this fantastic park at 92 Springbrook in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Be sure to get out and enjoy all the beautiful parks in West Alabama, but I suggest that you remain safe during the pandemic.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has guidance on visiting parks and recreational facilities.

  • Visit parks and recreation areas that are close to your home.
  • Don’t visit crowded parks or campgrounds.
  • Carefully consider the use of playgrounds, and help children follow guidelines.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from people you don’t live with.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Wash your hands often, and don’t share items with people you don’t live with.
