The Crimson Tide previously won the division in 2015 and 2020 after starting competitions in 2014. To bring home the trophy, the team edged out Western Kentucky by four-tenths of a point, 91.7-91.3. The co-ed squad also finished as runner-up behind national champions USF. Overall, this is the program's sixth national title, with the co-ed winning titles in 1984, 2011 and 2015.

The co-ed's second-place finish is the third time in the last six years, previously placing in 2020 and 2017. Alabama did not compete in the 2021 championship. The Alabama Dance Team placed in the top 10 to advance to the Division 1A Jazz Finals and finished sixth place overall.

The three-day competition took place at ESPN's Wide World of Sports in Orlando on January 14-16, with teams from across the country at all different levels participating in the event. Teams were judged on stunting, tumbling skills, crowd-leading abilities and overall performance. Check out the final results below:

It has been a rough few weeks for Alabama Athletics past couple of weeks. The Tide lost to Georgia in the CFP national championship. Basketball is on a three-game losing streak and gymnastics have lost two close matchups against the No. 3 Florida Gators and No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners. The Spirit Squad certainly cheered up athletics this weekend with a national title; now, maybe they can give the other teams a boost of confidence.
