Alabama Extension is offering free webinars on a variety of needed topics for people of all ages in Alabama.

This summer, you can learn about fraud and scam prevention, how to build and maintain good credit, prescription drug abuse, environmental education, robotics, and more. The webinars topics are split between age groups and there are even a few specifically for teachers. The best part is all of this is free and only requires pre-registration. Below is the breakdown of topics and ages for a few upcoming webinars.

 

Youth & Young Adults

  • 4-H Virtual Robotics Camp

Participants will learn about block coding and will then use block coding to program a virtual robot. * To participate in the camp, students will need a laptop or tablet and internet connection. The camp will take place every Wednesday (July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29) from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. CST via Zoom, and is best suited for ages 10-13.

  • Goal Diggers

Best for those between the ages of 16-25. Participants will learn how to actively pursue goals by becoming a goal digger. Goal Digger participants will engage in hands-on learning activities to Develop SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely),  Create a vision board for goals, Build & maintain good credit, and more! the camp will take place every Tuesday from June 16-July 14—10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Every Wednesday from June 10-July 8—2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
