The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Selma last night that turned fatal for a Selma resident. ALEA's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was called by the Selma Police Department to assist in the investigation.

According to the tweet below from FOX 6 reporter Kelvin Reynolds, Selma PD received a domestic disturbance call at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016. Upon arrival to the home off of King Street in Selma, gunfire broke out between a man at that home and the responding officer. The man was killed, and the officer received treatment for minor injuries sustained. A woman at the residence was taken to the hospital for injuries resulting from the domestic disturbance.

No further details are available at this time, and once the investigation into this incident is complete, findings will be turned over to the District Attorney of Dallas County.
