Alabama Man Killed By Car While Riding Lawnmower On Roadway

We received terrible news out of Clanton Alabama this morning.

We all know Clanton, AL is known for its peaches!

Clanton is located between Birmingham and Montgomery in central Alabama.

But today they are in the news because of a horrific accident.

A man on a riding lawnmower was killed while riding on a roadway.

Saturday at around 1:54 PM a man riding his lawnmower was struck by a vehicle.

"Today at approximately 1:54 PM, a subject was attempting to cross 7th Street North in the area of the 3500 block. It appears that the subject on the lawn mower failed to yield to the vehicle when crossing the street. The subject on the lawnmower was fatally injured from the crash. The driver of the automobile had minor injuries but was not transported by ambulance. We are currently not releasing names until all family can be notified. Prayers for all of those affected by this incident."

The Clanton Police Department said, "the man attempted to cross a street in the northern section of the city and failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle."

The person driving the vehicle suffered minor injuries

Once again Alabama tops some sort of list. Unfortunately this time it's not the type of list we would like.

Somehow we managed to put 6 Alabama cities in the top 100 with the highest spread of STDs.

And if that's not bad enough, we managed to get one city into the top 10. Definitely not the top 10 I ever want to see.

STDs don't discriminate. Both men and women spread STDs at a similar rate. Sometimes unknowingly.

The study noted that the three smallest cities on that list Augusta, Killeen, and Shreveport all have one thing in common. They're home to a large military base.
