
Alabama Braces for Multiple Severe Storm Rounds: Round 1 Outlook
Strong to severe storms are in the forecast for portions of Alabama over the next few days.
Let’s dive into the first round of active weather, which kicks off this evening and lasts through tomorrow morning.
Round 1
There have been some adjustments for round one. The Storm Prediction Center has a very small corner of Alabama under a Level 2 out of 5 risk, while some other Alabama counties are under a Level 1 out of 5 risk.

Possible Threats
Damaging Winds with Gusts up to 60 mph
Large Hail up to Quarter Size
“The main threat tonight will come from strong straight-line winds with heavier storms, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out over the northwest corner of Alabama,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist. “Storms will weaken after midnight, and the severe threat should be over by 3-4 a.m.”

Round 2 is shaping up to take place Tuesday around 5 p.m. and last through Wednesday at 4 a.m. The possible threats are isolated – brief tornadoes, damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph, and large hail up to quarter-size.
