The University of Alabama has set December 12th for its Fall 2020 commencement ceremonies and plans to adhere to the social distancing guidelines they practiced during the Spring graduations held in August.

In a press release Wednesday, UA announced it will hold the ceremonies that Saturday in Coleman Coliseum and administrators expect over 2,000 people to attend.

The University will conduct four separate ceremonies that day, a sharp decrease from the nine held in August. The times for each ceremony are listed below:

  • 9 am -- College of Communication and Information Sciences, College of Engineering
  • 12 pm -- Culverhouse College of Business, College of Education
  • 3 pm -- College of Human Environmental Sciences, Capstone College of Nursing
  • 6 pm -- College of Arts and Sciences, and Capstone College of Nursing

Each of the ceremonies will see a maximum of 530 graduates participating in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Additionally, masks will be required by both graduates and guests.

Similar to August's ceremony, sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the coliseum, and graduates will adhere to the same spacing before and during the ceremony.
