
Latest Updates to Alabama’s Spring Weather Outlook
The spring season launched on Friday, March 20, and we are counting down the days to southern summer vibes. I’m ready for sweet tea and sunshine.
There’s still time before the full Southern sizzle of summer. The meteorological start to summer is June 1, while the astronomical calendar is Sunday, June 21.
During this time period, expect a little bit of everything when it comes to the weather. It’s severe weather season in our region, and we’ve already had our share of Southern temperature swings.

Temperature Insights
The Old Farmer’s Almanac said the “spring outlook predicts warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the United States,” which does include the Deep South region.
Rain Outlook
“Precipitation will be above normal in the north and below normal in the south,” said the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
Alabama Spring Season
For the spring season in Alabama, the majority of the state is under the “warm and dry conditions” sector, while the far northern section is in the “warm and wet” zone, said the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
