A few weeks ago, I asked Alabamians what the official drink of Tuscaloosa was? The “Yellowhammer” from Galette’s and the “Nicodemus” from Nick’s in the Sticks were the top favorites. These iconic drinks are from legendary establishments.

The outcome was more in favor of the “Yellowhammer.” In my opinion, both are delicious. Over the holiday weekend, I decided to make my version of Tuscaloosa’s most celebrated drink, the Yellowhammer.

I am going to showcase to you how to elevate the famous “Yellowhammer.” In tasting the “Yellowhammer,” I believe it includes Orange juice, Pineapple juice, Vodka, Rum, and Amaretto. Then some ice, a quick mix, and a cherry on top.

As a self-proclaimed mixologist, I wanted to recreate the Yellowhammer with a Mary K spin on it.  Therefore, I took a field trip to the Northport ABC store to gather my ingredients. This is my favorite ABC store because Tamika and Fred are super helpful.
