Alabama’s Krystal Goodman To Join Southern Miss as Grad Assistant
Former Alabama Crimson Tide pitcher Krystal Goodman has her next step lined up. Goodman will join the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles softball program as a graduate assistant. Goodman, a Mississippi native will get started this coming fall after playing for the Crimson Tide from 2019 to 2021.
"When I look at Southern Miss softball, I see a great group of young ladies who are focused on building a positive and family oriented culture. When I was younger, I remember going to a Southern Miss softball camp and thought it was awesome! I got a shirt from players and thought that they were celebrities", started Goodman. "Now coming to Southern Miss as the graduate assistant, I want to bring vision to the team. I look at the big picture and know that I have been there and done that. I see my experience and vision an asset for the women to use and build upon."
Goodman made 43 appearances in the circle for the Crimson Tide compiling a 22-2 record while striking out 71 batters in 160.1 innings pitched. Goodman came to the Crimson Tide as a transfer by way of Chipola College.
The journalism major was twice the Mississippi state softball MVP in 2015 and 2016 and was a two-time NJCAA First Team All-American in 2017 and 2018 at Chipola College in Florida. She helped the junior college finish as runner-up in the NJCAA Championship in 2018.
