Alabamians Have Chance To Spotlight State Parks in National Contest

The 2026 America’s State Parks Photo Contest offers photographers a chance to capture the unique landscapes that define state parks across the nation.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this competition celebrates the beauty of outdoor activities and the environmental importance of these cherished areas while inviting all photographers to showcase their skills and talent.

This photo contest not only rewards photography but also offers an opportunity for people to discover and enjoy outdoor destinations that enhance communities and help maintain the environment.

Winning images from previous contestants have showcased a wide range of subjects, including mountain landscapes, sunsets, wildlife, and unforgettable outdoor experiences. In addition to showcasing photography, this contest highlights the importance of environmental awareness and the preservation of natural landscapes.

According to the press release, the contest is open to “Legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., and are at least 18 years of age and of the age of majority or older in the state of their residence at the time of entry.”

Also, it’s important to know that “All photographs must be taken on State Park lands managed by America's State Parks between May 15, 2024, and July 15, 2026.  And “contest entries are accepted until July 15, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.," said the press release. 

The grand prize is $10,000. 

The 2026 America’s State Parks Photo Contest not only celebrates the skills of photographers but also helps inspire people to appreciate, value, and help preserve the nation's state parks.
