(AP) The U.S. Geological Survey has detected a small earthquake in western Alabama.

USGS officials say a magnitude 2.1 tremor was reported early yesterday morning and the epicenter was west of Tuscaloosa, between Eutaw and Aliceville.

A few weeks ago, scientists attributed these quakes to the removal of resources from the ground elsewhere. Regardless of the cause, the rumblings have increased in frequency and are unsettling to say the least.
