Another Tuscaloosa Store Bites The Dust

The Tuscaloosa store, Gander Mountain located on McFarland Boulevard will be no more very soon.

The company that sells outdoor products is closing 32 stores nationwide and 4 stores in Alabama. The stores closing in Alabama include the Tuscaloosa location, as well as, Gadsden, Mobile, and Montgomery.

Gander Mountain filed for Chapter 11 protection on Friday and plans to sell by mid-April.

Officials for the company say that the use of e-commerce has made an effect on their sales. The stores they plan to close are those that are under-performing.

If Gander Mountain closes in Tuscaloosa, where else will the people of Tuscaloosa get their outdoor products? Also, what happens to the people who hold jobs at this employer? All great questions that need to be answered soon.
