"Ask Jade Nicole" is REALLY taking off, and your questions have me laughing just as much as I raise my eyebrows. With that said, here we go.

Q.  Is there a processor in the microphone that alters your voice?

A. No.  However, I will admit that I have a personal and professional voice, and I tend to alternate between the two at various times, even while I'm on the air.

Q. Do you really go through calls until you reach caller #9 during contests?

A.  Absolutely!

Q. Do you get to meet a lot of celebrities?

A.  That depends on your definition of a celebrity.  Musicians? Yes.  Movie stars? Not so much.

Q. I've heard that you're shy in person.  How can that be when you should be used to talking to people?

A. I AM shy in person, until I warm up to my surroundings.  And how is easy. I'm used to being heard and not seen, and I spend 8 hours of my day alone in a room that MAY be 140 sq ft.  So, when I'm around people I don't know, it makes me nervous.  Now, ask my family, and they'll tell you something totally different because I'm always acting silly with them.

Q.  How hard is it to balance your personal and professional lives?

A.  I'd like to think it's the same as most people.  I have to balance child care, babysitting, and activities as much as most parents, but it's kinda hard as a single parent.  Then too, I started in radio at a very young age.  Most people in the position I'm in have older children as opposed to toddlers.

Q.  What's the craziest thing that has ever happened to you as a radio personality?

A. I've experienced quite a bit of craziness, but I think the craziest thing was when Charles Anthony and Ed Ramsey took it upon themselves to recruit me a husband. http://wtug.com/?p=94716

Q.  It seems like working in radio would be fun. What do you enjoy most about your job?

A.  I receive the most joy in providing the community with information they might not otherwise receive.  However, that runs a close race with creating commercials.  I LOVE when I'm allowed to be creative!

And the question I received most:

Q.  What made you decide to pursue a job in radio?

A.  Believe it or not, my high school guidance counselor, Melanie Waller Glover.  I was a weird student.  Never studied.  Made a 25 on the ACT in the 10th grade and never took it again.  Made an 87 on the ASVAB.  Academia has always come to me easily. So, I got a scholarship to Stillman College. I didn't care what I studied as long as I could make money and didn't have to pay for school.  Once at Stillman, I had to find an area of study. I remembered Ms. Waller telling me that she thought I would be good at broadcast journalism. So, I decided to major in mass communications.  Through that area of study, I secured an internship at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. While working one day, I called WTUG and made a request. Charles Anthony played it shortly thereafter, and I called back to thank him for playing it. I then asked him if WTUG accepted interns.  He said he always needed interns and that I should just come to the station when I was ready.  I went the same day, and the rest is history.

These were pretty good questions.  Some made me give deep thought to my current job, how I got here, and how it plays into my everyday life. I still don't understand why people have such a hard time believing that although I love people, I'm a bit shy. That's funny to me because my best friend told me that before he talked to me, he thought I was "snooty" (his word LOL).

"Ask Jade Nicole" is quickly becoming one of my favorite activities.  Keep your questions coming via Facebook, email me at jade.nicole@townsquaremedia.com, or if you really want to remain anonymous even to me:
