Two Charged with Raping Auburn Student on ‘Tiger Transit’ Bus
Uuuggghhh, this is one of my biggest fears about sending my kids away to College, especially my girls.
According to AL.COM, Tony Martin Patillo, 51, and James Don Johnson, 32, are charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy 18-year-old Auburn University student, both are Tiger Transit employees. They are charged with sexual assault of an 18-year-old Auburn University student.
This past Friday night, Auburn police got a report of a man exposing himself while standing over a female on Aspen Heights Lane in Auburn. So, when the officers got to the scene and found Patillo, an employee of First Transit which operates Tiger Transit, near the roadway and detained him, was arrested on four counts of public lewdness and taken to the Lee County Jail.
When Patillo was arrested, the police didn't see the female at the initial time of the report. As the investigation continued, detectives determined the female who "appeared to be incapacitated," got on the bus near Magnolia Avenue in Auburn. While on the bus, she was sexually assaulted by Patillo,
Further investigation showed that Johnson, who was driving the bus, engaged in actions to perpetuate the crime while Patillo was in the rear of the bus raping the victim.
Patillo, from Columbus, Ga., is being held in the Lee County Jail on $127,000 bond. Johnson, of Auburn, was arrested at his home and is held in the Lee County Jail on $125,000 bond.
