The Back Forty Farm Fest returns to Gordo this Saturday with live music, food, and vendors, all to celebrate local farmers.

Celebrate the farmers who help keep our local communities growing at the Second Annual Back Forty Farm Fest. The festival is Saturday, September 26, starting at 4 p.m., with live music from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Old Zion Schoolhouse, 3370 Zion Road in Gordo.

The featured live performances include Nashville-based The Battle Creek Outlaws, along with 82 West and the Tim McCool Band. Admission is free, and fans can also catch the Alabama game live via satellite while enjoying the festival.

The idea for the Back Forty Farm Fest grew from Zion Community resident Tim McCool’s deep appreciation for farming and the people who dedicate their lives to the land.

“Our farmers in America and in Alabama don’t get enough recognition for their sacrifices and their importance to us all, said McCool. “My father was a farmer for 70 years. He lived a farmer and died a farmer. What better place to celebrate our farmers than at the Back 40, surrounded by farms? Come together, Alabama, and celebrate the American Farmer.”

You can also expect over 30 local vendors, sweet treats, food trucks, and lots of fun. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the celebration.
