We were warned back in October that Alabama will dismantle All Kids Health Insurance, a program providing health coverage to about 157,000 low- and moderate-income children, if Federal Aid is not extended...well..

Starting January 1st, Alabama’s ALL Kids program will no longer accept new enrollees.

If you want to enroll your children, you must turn in all required paperwork by the end of the year, according to the Alabama Public Health website.

Oh, plus this, a notice on the website, basically saying, even if you do apply by December 31st, the coverage is only guaranteed through February 1st, because of the funding from the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

If you need assistance, you can apply for new health coverage and financial assistance for any person losing ALL Kids coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace by calling 1-800-318-2596 or visiting their website, HealthCare.gov.
