Barnes YMCA Hosts After School Program, Job Fair, and More
There is much to be said for those who not only remember their humble beginnings but also reach back to hold the hands of others and walk with them to the level of greatness they seek. If a community is only as good as its members, there has to be excellence surrounding the Benjamin Barnes YMCA and Mind Changers, Inc.
The organizations have partnered to bring a number of services to West Tuscaloosa including after school services and even a community job fair.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are slowly integrating back to a resemblance of the lives we once enjoyed. Most people have returned to work, and more are going back each day. At the same time, some students are returning to full-time in class school.
To assist working parents and students alike, the Benjamin Barnes YMCA is hosting an after-school program, which offers the ability to have the students picked up from school Monday through Friday, beginning October 12.
Also each weekday, the wellness center is open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for members to enjoy physical activity, whether it’s to get in shape, stay in shape, blow off a bit of steam before heading home at the end of a work day, or if it’s to have a break from stressors in the home!
On Thursday, October 15, representatives from LP Services, West Alabama Trade Skills, Automation Personnel Services, the Tuscaloosa Career Center, and the Alabama Department of Corrections will take part in a job fair at the Barnes YMCA. The event will begin at 6 p.m., and participants are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
For more information on services provided by the Benjamin Barnes YMCA, visit its website or call (205) 345-6922.
