Benjamin Barnes YMCA Presents Tuscaloosa’s Gospel Best Competition
The city of Tuscaloosa and West Alabama is full of talented and seasoned gospel singers who sing in their local churches, groups and even on social media. But do they have what is takes to be Tuscaloosa's Gospel Best? The Benjamin Barnes YMCA wants to find out!
The Benjamin Barnes YMCA presents Tuscaloosa's Gospel Best which will follow the format of the popular BET show Sunday's Best. Auditions are open for anyone who thinks they have what it takes to be Tuscaloosa's Gospel Best! It is open to all ages. You can audition Sunday February 6, 2022 at 2pm at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA located at 2939 18th Street in Tuscaloosa right behind Westlawn Middle School.
After auditions, the first round of voting will take place and each vote is $1 for your favorite to advance in the competition. The money raised will benefit the programs and expenses of the Benjamin Barnes YMCA.
Each year, the event and its judges set out to find the best gospel talent to compete to become the Tuscaloosa’s Gospel Best winner. Contestants audition online via Facebook for two weeks where viewers will cast $1 votes (as often as they desire) via cash app or pay pal for the contestant of their choice.
The finale event will be held in late February with the location to be announced later. The top 12 will perform at the finale and the winner will be chosen. You can phone in your vote for each contestant. Last's year's winner was Kristian Simmons.
