Bite This! Travels to Huntsville to Catch a Food and Drink Vibe

Not too long ago, I was in Huntsville and enjoyed checking out the local spots for entertainment and great food. One establishment really stood out to me. It was a mix of entertainment, great folks, spot-on ambiance, incredible 5-star food, and incredible drinks.

Bite This had to give you the inside scoop on the Cru Rocket City, a lounge in Huntsville which is nearing its first anniversary. According to Hville Blast, the Huntsville Cru is a part of “the largest Black-owned nightlife chain and largest hookah lounge chain in the United States.”

Presentation:

The night was pretty perfect. You are greeted by a hostess that sets you up at your table. Then our waitress was bubbly and fun. We asked close to a hundred questions about the drinks (Crutails) and the menu is filled with small plates. The bartender was was perfection.

I had a great time with friends that took in the cuisine, cocktails, and atmosphere; I caught a vibe, twice. It was so good the crew and I went back for a second time.

Taste:

We had a little bit of everything and everything was really good, my favorite was a tie between the Cru Fried Fish and Cru Seafood plate plus the Cru Street Corn and the Grand Rita.

Food-wise, I also had the Cru Tacos. Plus some samples of the Lemon Pepper Wings, Cru Quesadilla, Cru Lollipop Lamb Chops, and Lobster Mac N Cheese. Drink wise I stuck with the Grand Rita, but I heard great reviews of the Cru Lemonade, Loving the Cru, and Between the Sheets.

Texture:

Off the top, the food at Cru Huntsville is like it’s a 5-star restaurant.

The Cru Seafood Plate includes market fresh Salmon along with broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was prepared so well and seasoned perfectly.

The Fried Fish was like seasoned and fried to perfection. It was crispy and flaky. It hit the spot after a long day.

The Cru Street Corn was an unexpected surprise. I could have drunk the Cilantro Cream Sauce by the gallon. It was also topped d with parmesan cheese and chili powder.

The Grand Rita was crafted perfectly with a balanced mix between the tequila, orange juice, fresh lime juice, sour, and Grand Marnier.

Value:

One point of argument, these small plates are far from small.  I thought the pricing on the drinks (Crutails) and food items were comparable to other lounges.

Overall:

The outdoor signs states “Catch a Vibe.” It’s so true. The whole experience at Cru Rocket City was absolutely a vibe.

There is even a Cru Lounge in Birmingham too. I can't wait to stop in there.
