BobaMania is officially bringing boba tea to Midtown Village and celebrated the grand opening of their second Tuscaloosa store Friday.

The store, located at 1800 McFarland Boulevard East, Suite 434, kicked off the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and featured a special appearance from Mayor Walt Maddox, who commended the business for continuing to be successful in Tuscaloosa.

"I love when we can see small businesses like this open up," Maddox said. "For me, it's not just about just opening a store, it means jobs, it means a hope for the future."

The celebration will continues Saturday. As a token of appreciation, BobaMania will offer customers visiting the store  50% off their purchases on Saturday.

BobaMania can now call Midtown Village its second home! The boba tea business that started in Downtown Tuscaloosa expanded the business, opening their second location Friday. Owners, Peter Xu and Lingyan Kong, along with co-founder Shannon Grady, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting hosted by the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce. Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox was also in attendance for the special event.
