The Bobby Brown biopic that was announced by BET earlier this year, after the smashing success of the New Edition biopic, now has a release date-- fall 2018.

Woody McClain, from the New Edition mini-series, is reprising his role as Bobby, reports Deadline.

The two-part mini-series, The Bobby Brown Story, is written written by Abdul Williams and executive produced by Jesse Williams. The Bobby Brown Story will chronicle Brown's exit from New Edition, solo career, affair with Janet Jackson and marriage to Whitney Houston. The story will reportedly span 30 years of his life. Casting is now underway for the other major roles in the film, including Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, Janet Jackson, Teddy Riley, L.A. Reid, Babyface and others.

The New Edition Story was a huge success for BET, with 29 million total viewers during premiere week, and it's likely Bobby's story, which is drama-filled, will gain significant interest as well.
