Detectives are investigating after a body was found at the Fosters Boat Landing in Tuscaloosa County Saturday morning, but do not immediately suspect foul play.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said deputies were the Sheriff's Office were called to the boat landing Saturday morning, and as a matter of protocol, the VCU was called to the scene.

He said investigators do not belief the death was criminal in nature, and there would likely be no further information released about the matter.

"VCU responds on most deaths in the county that occur outside of a hospital or attended medical care," Kennedy said. "It has not been our practice to release information regarding these death investigations out of respect for the privacy of the family."
