Boligee, Alabama Drive-Thru Clinic to Offer COVID-19 Testing, Vaccines
Coronavirus tracking maps show a clear indication that there is an increase in cases in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reported that the Delta Variant is “surging in the U.S. New data show Delta much more contagious than previous versions of COVID-19.”
Earlier this week, the Alabama Department of Public Health notified the public that “Alabama hospitals have been admitting significantly more COVID-19 patients recently, including patients who are younger, sicker, and unvaccinated.”
Not Vaccinated Yet?
There will be a Drive-Thru COVID Vaccination and Testing Event with the Rural Alabama Prevention Center for those in Greene County and close by to that area. Moderna and Pfizer Vaccines will be free for ages 12 and up. On Saturday, August 7, 2021, the event will take place from 9 a.m. until Noon at the Dollarhide Volunteer Fire Department at 1090 Co Rd 150, Boligee, AL 35443.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reminds us that the delta variant is more contagious. They make the recommendation that “vaccinated people can get breakthrough infections of Delta Variant and may be contagious.” Also, that “vaccinated individuals represent a very small amount of total transmission.”
