City of Tuscaloosa Once Again Accepting Christmas Toys for Parking Tickets
The city of Tuscaloosa will once again begin accepting donated Christmas toys as payment for overtime parking tickets next week.
The initiative, which was started in 2020 as a way to encourage people to resolve outstanding tickets while benefitting a good cause, will kick off again next Monday and wrap up on December 5th.
During that monthlong period, Tuscaloosa residents can take care of an $18 parking ticket with the donation of any toy worth $10 or more, and any donation worth $20 or more will satisfy two parking tickets.
The donated toys will then be given to Toys for Tots, who will distribute them as Christmas gifts to children in need this holiday season.
Toys can be dropped off at the Tuscaloosa Municipal Court at 2122 6th St. between November 7 and December 5.
To have a parking ticket forgiven, residents should bring a receipt for purchase or leave a price tag on the toy demonstrating its value at $10 or higher.
