As part of the City of Tuscaloosa’s resiliency plan, the Tuscaloosa Builds program was implemented to give minority contractors the opportunity to take part in city projects.

According to the City’s website, Tuscaloosa Builds is a program managed by the City of Tuscaloosa that offers support and resources to minority-owned, woman-owned and disadvantaged businesses in Tuscaloosa. Free educational workshops are held the third Thursday of every month in City Hall Council Chambers and are open to the public.

Thursday, July 20th, Tuscaloosa Builds will host Components of Entrepreneurship at the McDonald Hughes Center from 5-7pm.  Any entrepreneur with expertise in any area related to construction (from the clearing of the land, to building structures, to cleaning the buildings after completion, to landscaping the premises) is encouraged to attend.
