Each year since my daughter started caring about what she wants to be for Halloween, I've wanted her to be unique. Don't ask why. I just like the creativity behind doing things unlike regular store items.

When she was two, I bought her a shirt with "It's Time to Dance" printed on it, and I had "DJ Jireh" added to the back. She had a small plastic crate with CDs in it and headphones. We went to fall festivals, and everyone thought it was so cute! Then, she saw store-bought costumes and wanted to be a ladybug. I obliged, but I wasn't too thrilled about it.

The next year, she wanted to be Rapunzel. I bought the costume, but it was too cold and rainy for her to go trick-or-treating. Honestly, I wasn't too upset about that fact. (I know I sound like a horrible mother. I know, I know.)

This year, she wanted to be ANOTHER princess! *lame* I rolled with it, though.... Especially since Toys R Us had their costumes marked 75% off yesterday. I would have much rather she had an original costume, but hey! Whatever makes her happy.

With that being said, what do you prefer? Store-bought, ordered, or original?
