The water issues in Flint, Michigan are far from over and Dave Chappelle knows that well. During a recent show in Michigan, the comedian revealed he would be donating $50,000 towards the crisis.

During a performance at The Whiting Auditorium in Flint on Wednesday night, Chappelle made up for missing a previous event by donating all the money from his show. “I’m honored that you guys came here tonight,” he told the crowd. “I want you to know that just by coming to see me you supported this city. I’m not taking a dime.”

According to a report from TMZ, the money from Dave’s show was given to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. While on stage during his show, Chappelle present the organization’s CEO, Isaiah Oliver, with the check. The CEO said the money would help children who have been exposed to lead in Flint’s water.

The comedian was scheduled to appear at a benefit show in 2016 but skipped it, eventually revealing that he received a last-minute Oscars invitation from Chris Rock and chose to go to that event instead.

After the standing ovation Chappelle received at his latest show, it’s safe to say the city has forgiven the comedian after last year’s incident.
