Deontay Wilder Will Face 8th Ranked Artur Szpilka In His Next Title Fight

Will another one bite the dust? Deontay Wilder will proudly display his skills and defend his world heavyweight championship January 16, 2015 in Brooklyn New York. The fight will be on Showtime.

26-year-old Artur Szpilka who boast a record of 20-0-1 with 15 knockouts will be Deontay Wilders next challenger. Szpilka who defeated WBC number 14 Tomasz Adamek by unanimous decision in Nov. 2014 is ranked number 8 by WBC.

If Deontay Wilder wins this fight he will probably fight Alexander Povetkin in May. Alexander Povetkin passed up the opportunity to face Wilder in January. Wilder was also turned down by WBC number 3 Vyacheslav Glazkov, he is taking a shot at the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
