Diddy Holds a Private Memorial For Kim Porter
The memorial was filled with hundreds of guests who wanted to pay their respects to the late model, according to TMZ. Diddy's home was filled with photos of Porter, who is the mother of Diddy's children, with her family. There was also a candlelit walkway lined entrance as guests arrived. Among the many guests in attendance were the likes of French Montana, Mary J. Blige and Pharrell.
In addition to hosting the memorial, Diddy posted a heartfelt message dedicated to Kim on social media. For the post, Diddy posted a video from an Essence a photoshoot he participated in with the late model-actress. In the video, the couple embrace as they discuss the portrayal of Black love.
"For the last three days I've been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven't," Diddy wrote in the caption for the post. "I don't know what I'm going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I'm going to pay tribute to you, I'm going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love."
As previously stated, Porter suffered from flu-like symptoms in the weeks preceding her death. On Thursday, police received a call to Porter's residence after she suffered a cardiac arrest.
Speaking with CNN, Porter's grandmother revealed that Diddy had reached out to her after the death of his ex-girlfriend. "He talked with me last night, too. And he said...he talking like he was real worried," she shared. "He said 'My baby is gone. My baby is gone.'"
Since news of Porter's death, the hip-hop community has come together joined together to offer Diddy their condolences.
