Sanders was named Special Teams Player of the Week by the coaches in games against Tennessee and Arkansas.

The Texas native came to Tuscaloosa as part of a recruiting class that featured fellow linebacker Will Anderson Jr. As a freshman, Anderson finished third in the conference in sacks with seven and third in tackles for loss with 10.5. Anderson and Christopher Allen will return as the starting outside linebackers for the Tide, but Sanders could see an increased role in 2021.
