Cheapskate Wants You to Buy Engagement Ring for Him on GoFundMe
Love don't cost this guy a thing.
Ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to introduce you to William Oliver, a man who is so in love with his girlfriend that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He just wants you to pay for that to happen.
That's because Oliver has started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for people to pay for an engagement ring. He's even worse than this fella who had someone propose to him.
The Atlanta resident, who's trying to raise $15,000, explains his logic:
This will raise awareness about the difference between the love we share and the love people have for us. Money for the engagement is your chance to get involved...
I've decided to utilize GoFundMe to let everybody who loves us show us.
Huh? If that's the case, he'd better be fully prepared to let everyone who loves them not show them again when it comes to give a wedding present.
Oliver, who says he was inspired after his girlfriend bought him 30 gifts for his 30th birthday, decided he needed to find "a more innovative way to show my appreciation while incorporating friends and family." That's fancy speak for "I'm too cheap and too poor to buy my own ring."
Look, if you can't spring the money for an engagement ring, maybe you're not ready for marriage. It's a sign you don't have financial security. And, side note, what's with this bozo being greedy and asking for 15 grand? You can get a ring for less than that -- especially if you have the gall to ask other people to pay for it.
Whatever the future holds, one thing is clear: Oliver won't go at it alone. He posted an update saying he and his girlfriend are now engaged, along with a photo of a ring, writing, "Why do couples have to shoulder the cost of the public's materialistic perception of true love?"
We're just going to assume he's now asking people to foot his wireless bill that enables him to post all of this.
