With less than two months until the college football season opens, the construction at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is still ongoing and has caused a little uneasiness amongst fans. 

Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay calmed any concerns on Tuesday during an appearance at SEC Media Days when he confirmed that the stadium would be ready to go when Alabama and Florida State kickoff on September 2.

There was much more concern earlier this year when they project has suffered some delays, but the stadium has been on track through the summer. That's good news for football fans that have tickets for one of the biggest college football openers in recent years.

The Southeastern Conference spent some time at SEC Media Days on Tuesday showcasing Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will be the new home of the SEC Championship Game. The presentation showed the many amenities of the new stadium as well as a fan-friendly menu that will be a welcomed change at sporting events.

Alabama and Florida State will be the first college football game inside the stadium when the take the field at 7 p.m. on ABC.
