Favorite Pizza Spots In Tuscaloosa
Who doesn’t love pizza? My first job ever in life was answering the phones at Domino’s Pizza, so I have a loyalty to pizza. According to Eat This, “350 slices of pizza are eaten each second in the U.S.” That is a lot of pizza.
I got to Tuscaloosa during summer 2019, so I’ve been able to check out some local places for Pizza. To me, there is something about Pizza that screams weekend. So, if you got Pizza on your mind this weekend, be sure to check out these spots. If you have a pizza spot you would like to recommend to me or feel I missed a place; please hit me on the direct message on Instagram at @MaryKRadio
Heat Pizza Bar
The Heat Pizza Bar was the third restaurant I visited when I was coming to Tuscaloosa to check things out. I was so impressed, friendly folks, great pizza, and their bar is 60 feet long. My “go-to pizza” is the Perfect Pepperoni, and when I feel like trying something new, the daily specials are a hit. I love the fact it is easy to get to with the free parking deck behind them, and when done with my meal, I can check out Government Plaza and the rest of Downtown Tuscaloosa. You can check them out here.
Broadway Pizzeria
When I see the Broadway Pizzeria boxes enter the doors at Townsquare Media, I get really excited. Listen, every bite is pure joy to me. We typically get a variety of pizzas at work, but I enjoy the Garden pizza. You can check them out in Northport and. Tuscaloosa on McFarland, and Tuscaloosa on Rice Mine Road.
Blaze Pizza
This “fire it up” spot is perfect for me and my food moods when I don’t know what I want. At Blaze Pizza, I love the “build your pizza” option because I can get whatever I want on one pizza; I will go crazy on the veggies. You haven’t lived until you have had artichokes on your pizza. Be sure to check them out here.
PYRO's Fire Fresh Pizza
It’s a three-way tie for me and awesomeness at Pyros Fire Fresh Pizza. My favorites are the Raging Hawaiian, Spud, and Sun & Shade pizzas. And their salads are beyond delicious too; the Poppy Seed Chicken is like a hug in a bowl to me. Click here to read more.
Mellow Mushroom
I was introduced to Mellow Mushroom when I lived in Birmingham. I enjoy going to the Mellow Mushroom here in Tuscaloosa. But, no matter the Mellow Mushroom location, there is only one pizza for me. The “Holy Shiitake,” which is for all the mushroom lovers, the pizza has roasted shiitake, button, and Portobello mushrooms with other goodies. Be sure to check them out here.
