Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman was released from prison yesterday and returned home to Birmingham. He was greeted by over 100 friends and family at Birmingham Shuttlesworth .

Siegelman was still mostly dressed in his prison attire, jeans and a prison sweatshirt which had his inmate number.

Many members of the media had questions for Siegelman, but he did not respond to any.

The curious case of how Siegelman landed in prison, is a story only filmmakers could write. Siegelman was a beloved governor who sought to bring the lottery system to Alabama, and the money would help students go to college for free. That's when the story gets weird. He ended up being indicted on bribery charges, even though money received never benefited his campaign or him personally.

Regardless of why he went to prison, he's out now and is able to live his life with his family.
