In our current state of affairs, many families are experiencing financial difficulties that affect multiple areas of their lives.  Though most have returned to work with some restrictions and using personal protective equipment, some are fighting through hardships caused by decreased work hours and an increase in food costs as families are spending more time at home.

However, as it is often stated, eating healthy can be quite expensive. The short term cost of junk food is much less than the cost of healthy food. In addition, it could be argued that healthy food is digested at a quicker rate, causing one to want to eat more often.

It's no secret that homecooked meals are often more nutritious than meals prepared in restaurants, even those that are not of the fast-food industry.

So, what does one do when it seems that the food budget is difficult to manage?

Well, for those in need of a little assistance, Harvest Outreach Ministry is hosting a food distribution!

Friday, October 23, Harvest Outreach Ministry will host a food giveaway at Stillman College.  The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 p.m. or when all of the food has been given away, whichever comes first.

Harvest Outreach Ministry has been conducting food distribution events for quite a few months in surrounding areas, and it doesn't show any signs of stopping. As long as there is an opportunity to serve, that is what the church will do.

It goes without saying that the number of people in need of food sometimes exceeds the amount of food that is available at such events. Therefore, those in need should make plans to arrive early.  For more information, contact Pastor Hugh L. Spencer, Sr. at (205) 239-2990 or Ms. Diva Hall at (205) 366-8047.
