Tuscaloosa Police are searching for information regarding robbery suspects. One approached a victim early Thursday morning, demanding that he "give it up," and hitting the victim in the head with a handgun. Another was early Saturday. It's easy to blame these types of occurrences on a lack of employment, but one FREE program in Tuscaloosa is doing away with that excuse.

The Ollie Washington Building and Maintenance Program has been teaching area residents a number of construction skills for a number of years. In each 12-week session, students are taught skills such as carpentry, electrical work, flooring, window replacement, etc. All of these are skills that can lead to meaningful employment.

If you are a parent of a troubled young adult who may or may not be engaging in criminal activity, if you know of someone who might benefit from this program, or if you are interested in taking the courses yourself, more information is available below.
