Ginuwine Is Officially a Bachelor, Finalizes Divorce
Much like his 1996 debut album, Ginuwine is officially a bachelor. The veteran R&B crooner and ex-wife Solé's divorce is finalized.
According to Bossip, a Maryland judge signed off on their divorce on July 22 in Prince George’s County Circuit Court. Solé, whose real name is Tonya Johnston, quietly filed for divorce last spring while Ginuwine filed for bankruptcy last November.
In an agreement to divvy up their assets, the “So Anxious” singer agreed to pay Solé a lump sum of $150,000 in exchange for her signing over their $1 million mansion in Maryland. In addition, Ginuwine will pay her $3,000 a month in child support for the couple's two children: Story, 14, and Dream, 12.
Solé will get to own one of their three homes in Kansas City, Mo., while Ginuwine will obtain ownership of the other two properties. The 44-year-old singer also agreed to give up 25 percent stake in their Missouri-based company Spruce LLC, which helps teach life skills to people with developmental disabilities. Neither requested alimony in their divorce decree.
When asked about the divorce proceedings, Ginuwine replied, “I’m fine. There’s no comment. We’re good.”
Attorneys for both Ginuwine and Solé had no comment on the matter.
