
Flood Watch Begins Thursday as Excessive Rainfall Targets West Alabama
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Flood Watch. This watch goes into effect starting Thursday, June 18, at 7 a.m. through Friday, June 19, at 7 p.m.
Residents should be aware that flash flooding could occur due to excessive rainfall.
The potential impacts include “excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
If you live in flood-prone areas, you should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
