Ice Cube Feels Excited About the Possibility of Lonzo Ball Being Drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers
Ice Cube is a diehard Los Angeles Lakers. The hip-hop veteran has been watching the Lakers play since he could see. He was even featured as one of the two narrators for ESPN's 30 for 30 two-part special on the long rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Lakers.
With the 2017 NBA Draft happening tomorrow (June 22) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Ice Cube speaks to XXL about the possibility of the Lakers drafting former UCLA star Lonzo Ball.
"Lonzo Ball, I think he sound like Los Angeles Lakers Lonzo Ball; it all rolls off your tongue," Cube says about the 6-foot, 6-inch, 19-year-old point guard who is currently ranked as the No. 2 prospect by CBS Sports. "I think that's who we're going to get and I'm exciting for him."
Ice Cube also adds his thoughts abut Lonzo's outspoken father, LaVar Ball. "He's out there supporting his son, telling the world how great his son is, you got to respect that."
Back in March, for promotion of Cube's new BIG3 League, the former N.W.A member issued a challenge to LaVar Ball to make a 30-foot jumper, which in the BIG3 League counts for four points. The first game of BIG3 League will tip-off this Saturday (June 24) at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
