It’s Finally Tua Time in Miami

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Miami Dolphins are naming Tua Tagovailoa their new starting quarterback. Tagovailoa received his first playing time this past weekend against the New York Jets, he completed both his passes for nine yards in a 24-0 victory. The Dolphins are on a BYE week, therefore he will make his first start against the Los Angeles Rams at home on Nov. 1.

Tagovailoa was selected with the No. 5 pick in this past season's NFL draft and was the second quarterback taken behind LSU's Joe Burrow. He has sat behind Ryan Fitzpatrick to open the season and ensure he is fully healthy.

Tagovailoa will be throwing to former first round pick DeVante Parker, tight end Mike Gesicki and receiver Preston Williams. The Dolphins are 10th in the NFL in passing yardage so far in this young season. The first-round pick will attempt to keep the Miami franchise throughout the rest of the year.

The Hawaiian quarterback passed for 7,442 yards and 87 touchdowns while in Tuscaloosa. He helped the Crimson Tide win the 2017 CFP National Championship and the 2018 SEC Championship.

Individually he earned 2018 All-American, SEC Offensive Player of the Year, Walter Camp and Maxwell award.

The Miami Dolphins are 3-3 this year and currently sit just one game behind the Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC East.
