Vang was hired by Central Washington in February after spending the 2025 season with Sacramento State as an edge rushers coach, helping the Hornets have three players finish with eight or more tackles for loss as the Hornets finished the 2025 season 7-5. Sacramento State finished the 2025 season with 38 sacks and an additional 85 tackles for loss.

Three of his defensive linemen achieved All-Big Sky Conference honors, with DeSean Watts earning First-Team honors and Dylan Hampsten and Jayland McGlothen earning Second-Team.

Watts played in all 12 games with 11 starts in 2025 for Sacramento State, totaling 36 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks. Hampsten played in all 12 games with 11 starts as well, leading the Hornets with 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks, finishing 2025 with 39 total tackles. McGlothen played in all 12 games with five starts, finishing the season with 31 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks.

Vang will replace former Alabama linebacker Jamey Mosley on the Crimson Tide's staff, where Mosley worked with defensive line coach Freddie Roach on the Tide's defensive line and bandit defenders. Mosley left the Crimson Tide to become the defensive line coach for Stanford after spending 2021 to 2025 with Alabama.
