Wide receivers are a position that is known to be a hot commodity at Alabama. With Jermaine Burton entering the NFL draft, Isaiah Bond was expected to be the top target for the Crimson Tide next season.

That plan might be changing. According to Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News, upcoming junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond has filled out the paperwork to enter the transfer portal and is expected to weigh his options outside of Tuscaloosa.

It is important to note that Bond's name is not officially in the transfer portal at noon on Friday, but he is 'testing the waters.'

Last season, Bond caught 48 passes for 668 yards and four touchdowns. He was the second leading receiver on the team behind the departed Jermaine Burton.

The effects of the shocking retirement of former head coach Nick Saban are already being felt at Alabama. The night Saban retired, five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams de-committed from Alabama. Now, Alabama could lose its top target, Bond.

Bond, originally from Buford, Georgia, should have a lot of options as one of the top players in the transfer portal. He may not be the only Alabama player to transfer now that Coach Saban has retired, but he is currently the first.

Just because he has filled out the paperwork does not mean he is guaranteed to leave. Should Alabama hire the current favorite, Kalen DeBoer, his offensive staff could potentially encourage Bond to remain in Tuscaloosa.
