NFL Draft Expert Weighs in on Malachi Moore
It's officially NFL draft week, and with it, the Crimson Tide stars from the last 3-5 seasons hope to fulfill their dreams of being drafted into the NFL. NFL draft expert Daniel Jeremiah weighed in on Moore's status in the NFL draft, ranking him lower than several other draft experts.

"He's a good football player," Jeremiah told reporters last week. "He didn't have elite size or anything like that, but he can cover in the slot. He can play in the middle of the field. He flashes some range in the back half."
At Alabama, Moore played the 'star' position in Nick Saban's defensive scheme from 2020-23, starting every game in his freshman and senior seasons for Saban's defense. During his fifth and final year of eligibility in 2024, Moore played deep safety in Kane Wommack's 4-2-5 defensive scheme.
Jeremiah also shared his concerns for Moore at the NFL level.
"To me, the question is just how much pure make-up speed does he have? For me, the range that I have him is kind of in that fourth-, fifth-round range. There's a good bit of safeties in that kind of clump in there, but that's about the range where I see him coming off the board."
How does Moore project to the next level?
"In terms of teams, to me I view him more as a third safety, third or fourth safety, who is going to be a part of your sub-packages and play on special teams and try and earn his way up the depth chart. I mean, every team could use someone like him, but that fourth, fifth-round is about the range where I specifically have him."
Moore was a captain for the Crimson Tide in 2023 and 2024, commanding the Crimson Tide defense after Brian Branch departed after the 2022 season.
In five years at Alabama, Moroe totaled 212 tackles, 24 pass breakups, seven interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 2.5 sacks.
