Fields, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound offensive lineman from Dutchtown High School, is originally from Geismar, Louisiana. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a three-star interior offensive lineman, the No. 61 interior lineman, and the No. 27 player in Louisiana when he signed with the Rebels as a member of Ole Miss's 2023 recruiting class.

In 2023, he did not appear in any games as a true freshman and redshirted. In 2024, he appeared in four games total for the Rebels. In 2025, he played 62 snaps for the Rebels and got most of his opportunities against Georgia State and The Citadel. He also appeared in the fourth quarter of the Rebels' CFP victory over Tulane.

Fields is the 15th transfer to commit to the Crimson Tide from the transfer portal, and is the fifth offensive line commitment for Alabama via the transfer portal.
